Value hotel

5 min walk to Taipei main station. 10 min walk to Ximen. The room was small but good for a short stay of 3 nights. Clean and comfortable.

The room is small for a westerner, there is no sitting space, but for the cost, fine. You can hear motorcycles since it’s on the second floor, despite the double paned windows. It’s not too busy at night, so it was bearable.

Atypical, well-located hotel in the heart of Taipei with small but clean rooms.

Location is great, but keep in mind that this is a typical large city Asian-style hotel, on the first floor of a larger building, without any kind of charm. Staff was friendly and it was very clean.

The room was very small and since we were there for the New Year, the price paid did not feel like we were getting value for money. However, it was clean and comfortable.

Very central stay

Great location from Taipei main station, plenty of 7 eleven and shops/cafes and the famous beef noodle restaurant very close. Small rooms but very clean and comfortable.

A few things lost in translation in terms of us wanting a very early check out. More hooks please!

Nice modern boutique hotel close to the subway and many stores and restaurants.

This was a nice find and the location was fantastic! It was a quick walk to the MRT exits, though there's a bit of a walk underground until you actually enter the MRT. I also didn't realize TO Hotel is right by Mitsukoshi department store and several fun places to shop so that was nice. POYA is right next door, so if anything is needed, one can just go downstairs and get something. It's definitely convenient to stay by Taipei Main Station, though I would say the prices are higher and the places are smaller. The room itself was bigger than I expected and super clean (and I'm picky). The bathroom is really nice and modern, though for bigger people it might be a bit small. Even I had to sit on an odd angle when using the toilet, since it's so close to the wall and the part of the wall sticks out a bit. I didn't expect it but the towels and sheets were changed everyday unless I hung up the do not disturb sign, so that was nice. There was a mark on one sheet though, and the next day I noticed the duvet had a hole. For some reason, the towels all show signs of fraying. It's a modern hotel, but the towels look like they should be changed out. They appear and smell clean though, so maybe the hotel washers are just super strong... Overall it's quite clean and new looking. The desk appears old but I think that is the style of the place. The fridge is a really nice medium size and has a freezer. There's a larger fridge in the hallway with the water dispenser and coffee, so probably not all rooms have a fridge. There is no wardrobe, but it was nice to have a coat rack to hang jackets and even some laundry. The window is a nice size but the view is just a cramped alley and almost no sunlight comes in especially since it was grey and rainy most days I was there. I ended up closing the blinds most of the time so that I wouldn't have to see the awful view.

The first thing I saw when checking in at night was what appeared to be a homeless person in front of the TO hotel entrance. It kind of freaked me out actually because I didn't know if the homeless person would make a move at me if I tried to enter the door. Every night, the homeless person was there. Either the manager doesn't have the heart to ask them to leave or none of the workers there reported it. How could they not know? The door is glass. Were they all too kind hearted to ask the homeless person to move? I feel bad reporting it, but it really made me uncomfortable to have to go past the homeless person every night I returned to the hotel. They sit on the bench right in front of the hotel security door.

Not so bad if you are going there just to rest, instead of staying in the room.

Location wise, is good. The staff is very friendly and helpful, gave me some snacks! hehehehe

A great, brand-new hotel near everything in Taipei!

I'm glad that I ended up at this hotel. I was travelling internationally for work and research when things started heating up with this new coronavirus/COVID-19 crisis, and with flights being cancelled and countries locking down, I decided that I'd be better off spending a day or two in Taiwan to recalibrate my plans. Well, when things worsened internationally, that day or two turned into a month or longer, which I'm still in the middle of. But thankfully, I found a good hotel, clean, quiet, and everything is brand-new because they apparently just opened in February. The employees are all incredibly nice and helpful, and in three weeks, I haven't had a bad experience or anything to complain about. Besides the cleanliness and comfort, you literally cross one street, and you're at the Taipei Main Station where you can catch a bus or train/MRT to anywhere in Taipei and beyond, even the main international airport. There are tons of restaurants and stores within a one-block radius (including 7-11 and their local equivalents), and the area seems to be 100% safe, not like most "downtown" areas of other cities. Back to the hotel, there's an elevator to get you and your luggage to the lobby when you arrive (it's on the 2nd floor, in American terms, meaning the floor that's right above the ground floor [British people on the other hand apparently call this the "1st floor"]), and the internet runs flawlessly, as does the hot water. I tried two other rooms before settling on this one, and even the rooms that were right above the busy street corner were amazingly quiet, so they must have some really good soundproofing in this building. I give the T.O. Hotel at Taipei Station (on Kaifeng Street) my highest recommendation!
